Roundtable

Challenge the framework with us.

We are bringing school leaders, teachers, teacher educators, families, people with lived experience, assessment specialists, researchers and policy makers together. The first task is to test whether we have described the problem accurately.

Questions for the table

  • Where do children’s reasoning and usual output diverge, and what else could explain it?
  • Does current teacher guidance translate sufficiently into practice?
  • Which combined teaching and access changes are feasible in schools?
  • What would count as a fair test, including evidence that challenges the proposal?

A practical outcome

Agree a small pilot with defined tasks and measures, including skill progress, reasoning, effort, independence, workload and family experience. Record positive, null and adverse findings. Use them to refine or narrow the framework before considering wider adoption.

Starting point

The aim is a shared question, a fair challenge and a useful next test.

We welcome discussion with schools and organisations willing to examine both strengths and limitations of the proposal.
